Harrisburg, Pennsylvania — Marc Scaringi, candidate for the Republican nomination to the U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania, today completed his filling for the race submitting a total of 5623 (updated) petitions signatures from Pennsylvanians from 66 of the Commonwealth’s 67 counties. That number represents over 2 and three-quarters times the number of signatures required to qualify for this April’s primary ballot. Scaringi made a preliminary filing yesterday of nearly 4000 signatures, but supporters from throughout Pennsylvania continued to submit their petitions to the campaign during the last 24 hours, so the campaign amended its filing today with over 1600 more.
Scaringi responded to the final tally of petitions saying, “I am truly overwhelmed and filled with gratitude for the outpouring of support from throughout Pennsylvania. The number of signatures represents the hard work of many, many volunteers putting in their time going door-to-door in the middle of winter, talking to friends and family and associates, and going to countless events to represent our campaign. This groundswell of grassroots support bodes well, as we move forward towards Primary Election Day. On to April 24th!”
