Harrisburg, Pennsylvania — Marc Scaringi, candidate for the Republican nomination to the U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania, in a head-to-head match up against Sam Rohrer won the Blair County Republican Women’s straw poll this past Thursday, Feb. 9 in Altoona. The results were released over the weekend. Scaringi won 50% of the vote to Rohrer’s 42%. The straw poll came following a U.S. Senate candidates forum hosted by the group in which all the candidates seeking the Republican nomination to the U.S. Senate were invited to participate and all were on the ballot. Scaringi and Rohrer were both in attendance.
Scaringi responded, “It is very gratifying to win the Blair County Republican Women’s straw poll. My message of the need to return to limited constitutional government and the ideals of our Founding Fathers, at this defining moment in our nation’s history, is resonating with the grassroots of our Party.” Scaringi also won a straw poll conducted by the Blair County Republican Women last fall following a forum in which he did not participate, but included U.S. Senate candidates Steve Welch and Tom Smith.
