Scaringi Attends March for Life; Says Casey Is Not His Father’s Pro-Life Democrat

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania — Marc Scaringi, candidate for the Republican nomination to the U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania, for the second year in a row participated in the Right to Life March in Washington, DC, marking the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision. Scaringi also attended the meeting Senator Robert Casey conducted with pro-life marchers afterwards in the John Kennedy Caucus Room in the Russell Senate Office Building. Scaringi believes, as hundreds in room expressed, that Senator Casey has abandoned the pro-life movement. Casey closed his meeting, during which he tried to defend his record to Pennsylvania’s pro-life marchers, to a loud round of boos.

Scaringi said following the Casey meeting, ” Senator Robert Casey is not his father’s pro-life Democrat. He voted to provide $363 million in taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider. The Senator also voted for Obamacare’s mandates to use taxpayer dollars to fund abortions. Further, Casey voted to rescind the Mexico City Policy, first instituted under President Reagan, which prevented American taxpayer dollars from being used to fund abortions overseas.”

Scaringi added, “You cannot be pro-life and vote to fund Planned Parenthood.” The organization performs over 300,000 abortions of innocent, unborn children every year. Because abortion is a ghastly but profitable business, Planned Parenthood rakes in over one billion in revenues per year. Scaringi observed, “Instead of looking for ways to shut down this organization, Senator Casey votes to subsidize it with taxpayer dollars. His father fought against Planned Parenthood, and he voted to fund it.”

Scaringi concluded, “Casey abandoned pro-lifers and taxpayers by voting to fund Planned Parenthood and Obamacare, and voting to rescind the Mexico City Policy. It is time to vote out Senator Robert Casey.”
