Obama Signs NDAA into Law: Power to Detain Americans Indefinitely without Charging Crime or Trial

This past Saturday, New Year’s Eve, was a sad day for our civil liberties and our Constitution.  President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act thereby eviscerating the Rule of Law and our Constitution by making the indefinite military detention of U.S. citizens without charge or trial the law of the land.  This power is in direct violation of the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments regarding unlawful seizures, the requirement for a speedy trial by a jury of one’s peers, and cruel and unusual punishment. Our Founding Fathers, who fought the War of Independence against such acts of tyranny, are surely rolling over in their graves. This new law is a direct assault on the civil liberties of every American and on the Constitution of the United States.

Our Congress and President have just taken another step toward reestablishing tyranny in America.  Now is the time for those Americans who care about the Constitution and our civil liberties to put into office true patriots who will stand up to tyranny and restore freedom to America.  I ask that you help me in my effort to obtain the Republican nomination to the United States Senate so that I may go to Congress and repeal this unconstitutional law, fight against all acts of tyranny and restore freedom to America.

Please give your best contribution today to get our constitutionally conservative message out across Pennsylvania.
