The right to life is the most fundamental of all our rights. Our own Declaration of Independence states it’s an unalienable, God-given right. Marc Scaringi, candidate for the Republican nomination to the U.S. Senate, pledges to support life from conception to the moment of natural death.
Senator Robert Casey, however, has proven to not be his father’s pro-life Democrat. He voted to provide $363 million in taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider. The Senator also voted for Obamacare’s mandates to use taxpayer dollars to fund abortions. Further, Casey voted to rescind the Mexico City Policy, first instituted under President Reagan, which prevented American taxpayer dollars from being used to fund abortions overseas.
Planned Parenthood performs over 300,000 abortions of innocent, unborn children every year. Because abortion is a ghastly but profitable business, Planned Parenthood rakes in over one billion in revenues per year. Instead of looking for ways to shut down this abortion mill, Senator Casey is looking for ways to crank it up. His father fought against Planned Parenthood, and the son voted to fund the organization.
Bob Casey cannot be both pro-life and pro-Planned Parenthood. If one believes that life is sacred and begins at conception, then one should protect and defend innocent unborn life. Planned Parenthood ends innocent life every day. The hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars Casey gives Planned Parenthood helps offset its operating costs so that it can offer more and cheaper abortions. Casey is subsidizing abortion.
Planned Parenthood does not even provide certain basic services that it claims it provides including those touted as justification for taxpayer funding. A recent investigation revealed that of 30 Planned Parenthood clinics contacted in 27 different states not one actually provided mammograms, one of the vital tests supporters argued would be lost if federal funding went away.
Casey abandoned pro-lifers and taxpayers by voting to fund Planned Parenthood and Obamacare, and voting to rescind the Mexico City Policy. It is time to vote out Senator Robert Casey.
